Abstract

This study aims to identify the motivations, beliefs, and perceptions of tourists related to religious tourism and sacred water pilgrimages in Banten after the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used was qualitative, with data collection through in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis. The results showed that the main motivations of tourists in religious tourism and sacred water pilgrimages in Banten after the COVID-19 pandemic were to seek peace and happiness in life, increase faith and piety, and obtain blessings and healing. Tourists' belief in the spiritual power of these places was an important factor in influencing their decision to visit. Tourists' perceptions of the health protocols implemented at these places also influenced their decision to visit, with cleanliness and safety being the main factors considered. This study provides an important contribution to understanding the motivations, beliefs, and perceptions of tourists related to religious tourism and sacred water pilgrimages in Banten after the COVID-19 pandemic. These findings can help the government, tourist attraction managers, and related parties in developing more effective marketing and management strategies to increase the number of tourist visits while still maintaining their safety and health.
