Syair Nyi Pohaci Dalam Naskah Sejarah Aki Sulanjana (Dari Desa Cilebang Lebak-Banten)

Abstract

The Poem of Nyi Pohaci in the Manuscript of Aki Sulanjana’s History (from Cilebang Village, Lebak-Banten) is an old manuscript traditionally recited during customary ceremonies such as Sedekah Bumi, Mapag Pare Bekah, Ngajiwa, and Ngubaran Pare, which take place in the homes of elder community members (kekolot). The Aki Sulanjana manuscript is sung in turns, with each stanza recited by a kiyai (religious leader) who has memorized the manuscript. In this manuscript, Nyi Pohaci is depicted as the Goddess of Rice and Fertility. The manuscript contains poetic verses (syair) about Nyi Pohaci or the origin of fertile rice plants.
