UIN Public Relations \u2013 Class activities at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten continue to be held in person and have not been switched to distance learning (PJJ), despite public concern over the activity of Mount Anak Krakatau and the potential impacts of an eruption or volcanic ash.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, students are asked to remain vigilant and wear masks, especially when engaging in outdoor activities. This recommendation is a precautionary measure against potential exposure to volcanic ash or dust that could affect respiratory health.<\/p>\n
The rector of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten believes that UIN Banten\u2019s Campus 2 in the Palima area is located in a region that is relatively safe from the spread of volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau, as well as from the direct impact of the massive tsunami that once struck the Banten coast.<\/p>\n
This assessment is based on data released by the BMKG to the general public, which indicates that the volcanic ash is spreading primarily toward the south of Serang. In addition, the policy also takes into account an analysis of a number of historical manuscripts and articles regarding the impact of the 1883 Krakatoa eruption.<\/p>\n
According to records that have been reviewed, the areas in the northern coastal region of Banten that were severely affected by the Krakatoa tsunami included Ciwandan and Cilegon.<\/p>\n

Therefore, students and the academic community at UIN Banten are urged to stay informed through official channels regarding the activity of Mount Anak Krakatau and to follow the instructions of disaster management authorities should conditions change.<\/p>\n
For the time being, classes will continue to be held in person, rather than online. Wearing masks is one way for students and the academic community to take precautions against potential exposure to dust or volcanic material.<\/p>\n
