Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten closed the year 2025 with a positive reflection. Al-Jabbar, which is one of the Asmaul Husna (الْجَبَّارُ), means “The Mighty One”, as Allah says in QS. Al-Hashr: 23, “هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَّارُ الْمُتَكَّرُ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ”,
an alliance of several universities in the Special Region of Jakarta, Banten, Bandung, and Cirebon, has shown significant results. This scheme aims to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) of lecturers and education personnel, as well as student graduates in contributing to the nation and global community, by strengthening cooperation in the field of Tridharma of Higher Education, Education and Teaching, Research, Scientific Publication, and Community Service, as mandated by Allah in QS. Al-Maidah: 8, “يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ۚ اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ”.
Through a memorendum of agreement (MoA) signed in 2025, FUDA UIN Banten has established cooperation with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, University of Al-Qur'an Science College, Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an, UIN Sunan Gunung Jati Bandung, and UIN Siber Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon. The joint activities that have been implemented, such as studium generale, visiting lecturer, inter-university discussion forum, and inter-institutional focus group discussion, have shown the success of the Al-Jabbar scheme. In 2026, these activities will be continued and expanded by involving expert lecturers from all Al-Jabbar alliances, in order to increase the accreditation of study programs that excel at the national level.
In addition, FUDA UIN Banten will also strengthen cooperation with the Al-Basith scheme, which is one of the Asmaul Husna (الْبَاسِطُ), meaning “The Most Widespread”, as Allah says in QS. Al-Baqarah: 247, “وَإِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ بَعَثَ لَكُمْ طَالُوتَ مَلِكًا ۚ قَالُوا أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالْمُلْكِ مِنْهُ وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِنَ الْمَالِ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَزَادَهُ بَسْطَةً فِي الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِ ۖ وَالَّهُ يُؤْتِي مُلْكَهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَالَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ”. Al-Basith is an alliance of universities in West Asia (Middle East) such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Iraq, Palestine, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates; Central Asia such as Uzbekistan; South Asia such as India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan; Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, and Timor Leste; and East Asia such as China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The Al-Basith scheme aims to improve the quality of human resources of lecturers and education staff, as well as student graduates in contributing to the nation and global society, through activities such as international conferences and international community outreach, which includes community service and knowledge exchange with the global community, as Allah commands in QS. Al-Imran: 110, “كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ ۚ مِنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ”. With this collaboration, FUDA UIN Banten hopes to improve the quality of education and research, as well as expand international networks, so that study programs at FUDA UIN Banten can achieve superior accreditation at the international level.
Thus, FUDA UIN Banten is ready to carry out the mandate during the 2025-2029 Period with high enthusiasm and commitment to improve the quality of human resources for lecturers and education staff, as well as student graduates in contributing to the nation and global society, as well as study program accreditation. We hope that through the Al-Jabbar and Al-Basith schemes, FUDA UIN Banten can become a center of excellence for education and research at the national and international levels.
