3 Sub-districts in Serang Regency Become Field Professional Practicum Sites for SPI Students of UIN SMH Banten

FUDA - Thursday (June 19, 2025) - The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) of State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten is now entering the stage of implementing Field Professional Practicum (PPL) as part of the learning process in the faculty environment.

This PPL is intended for VI semester students who have completed a minimum of 120 credits. This practicum is one of the important stages before students enter the final phase of study, such as submitting a thesis proposal, comprehensive examination, and munaqasyah examination.

Three study programs at FUDA have held PPL orientations, namely the Hadith Science Study Program, the History of Islamic Civilization (SPI), and the Islamic Library and Information Science. One of the study programs that has passed the orientation stage as well as the release of PPL students is the History of Islamic Civilization Study Program which on Thursday, June 19, 2025 sent its students to the PPL location.

Through coordination between the local government and the Islamic Civilization History Study Program of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, SPI students will carry out practicum in three sub-districts in Serang Regency, namely:

  • Kramatwatu Sub-district
  • Sub-district Waringin Kurung
  • Bojonegara Sub-district

The students will be deployed to several villages in each sub-district and divided into small groups. This placement is done after approval and technical preparation from the relevant sub-district.

During the implementation of PPL, students will temporarily live in their respective villages to carry out local history research. This research is sourced from authentic data, both in the form of archives, written documents, and interviews with competent sources. All research results will be compiled and published in the form of a local history documentation book.

This research process will also be accompanied directly by field supervisor from the SPI Study Program to ensure the quality and validity of the data obtained.

This PPL activity is expected to not only provide practical experience to students, but also contribute to the preservation of local history and culture in the Serang Regency area.
