6 FUDA UIN SMH Banten Students Receive Educational Assistance from UPZ UIN SMH Banten

Serang - The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN SMH) Banten received educational funding assistance from the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) UIN SMH Banten for 6 students, which in total for the December 2025 period is allocated as many as 35 UIN SMH Banten students from various faculties. The submission of the assistance was held on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, at the 3rd Floor Multipurpose Hall of UIN SMH Banten Rectorate Building.
This activity is part of UIN SMH Banten's commitment through UPZ in supporting the sustainability of student education, especially for those who need economic assistance in order to continue their studies properly.
The Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Prof. Dr. H. Muhamad Ishom, M.A., in his speech expressed his appreciation for the strategic role of UPZ UIN SMH Banten in channeling zakat funds in a targeted manner. According to him, this educational assistance is not just financial support, but also a form of institutional concern for the future of students.
“Zakat funds managed by UPZ UIN SMH Banten must really benefit the academic community, especially students. This assistance is expected to ease the economic burden and motivate students to continue to excel,” said the Rector of UIN SMH Banten when symbolically handing over the assistance.
In a separate place, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., expressed his gratitude for the allocation of educational assistance provided to FUDA students. He emphasized that this assistance is very helpful for students in supporting the smooth academic process.
“We would like to thank UPZ and the university leadership. This assistance is very meaningful for FUDA students, and we hope it can encourage their enthusiasm for learning and improve their academic performance,” said the Dean of FUDA UIN SMH Banten.
Meanwhile, Plt. Head of UPZ UIN SMH Banten, H. Masduki, M.A., explained that the distribution of education assistance funds is the result of the management of zakat, infaq, and alms from the academic community of UIN SMH Banten which is distributed in accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability.
“UPZ UIN SMH Banten is committed to ensuring that zakat funds are channeled appropriately and have a real impact. This educational assistance is expected to help students stay focused on their studies and self-development,” Masduki explained.
The same thing was conveyed by the Vice Dean III of FUDA UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, Lc., M.A. who is in charge of student affairs. He assessed that this educational assistance program is very relevant to the needs of students today.
“We hope that this assistance will not only help economically, but also encourage students to be active, excel, and contribute positively to the faculty and university,” he said.
Here are the names of FUDA students who received Education Fund Assistance from UPZ UIN SMH Banten; Ahmad Ikrom Anwari (AFI), Helmi Malia (IPII), Mareta Asprianti Safitri (IH), Muhamad Juhri (BSA), Siska Adelia Zahra (IAT) and Siti Muinah ((SPI). Through this educational assistance program, UIN SMH Banten confirms its commitment in building an inclusive and equitable education system, while strengthening the role of zakat as an instrument of student empowerment and improving the quality of human resources.
