Ready to Compete on the ASEAN Stage: 30 FUDA Students Train Hard Ahead of the 2026 ADIA International Student Competition

SERANG — As a concrete step toward producing young academics who are globally competitive, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) is currently providing intensive training to 30 of its students. This training is intended to thoroughly prepare them for a prestigious competition International Student Competition 2026, organized by the Indonesian Association of Literature Faculty (ADIA) in collaboration with the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Literature at UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, which served as the host.

This international event embodies a shared commitment to accelerating student development, both nationally and internationally. The competition is designed as a platform for developing students’ potential in various essential fields, ranging from academics, language proficiency, digital literacy, communication arts, creative media, to technology-based innovation.

More than just a competition for medals, this event is expected to serve as a catalyst for strengthening academic networks among universities, particularly among State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) across Indonesia and partner universities in the Southeast Asian region.

In this inaugural issue, International Student Competition featuring 12 competition categories comprehensively grouped into three main clusters: the writing cluster, which includes scientific writing and book review competitions; The reading cluster includes poetry recitation and news reading competitions; and the digital products cluster covers animated poster competitions, speech contests, storytelling contests, dubbing contests, animated films, video podcasts, eco-theology comic contests, and vlog video contests. This series of activities officially began on May 1, 2026, while the selection and judging process is scheduled to take place from July 6 to 15, 2026.

Facing such fierce competition, the FUDA delegation—comprising 30 selected students—underwent a structured training program. Before finalizing and submitting (submit) to the judging panel, participants receive direct guidance from a team of expert faculty members in accordance with their respective competition categories. This guidance focuses on refining the content, ensuring the originality of ideas, and perfecting the technical execution of the work to meet international quality standards.

In response to these preparations, the Dean of FUDA, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., expressed his appreciation and full support for the commitment shown by the students and their academic advisors.

“The FUDA delegation’s involvement in this event is not merely a ceremonial participation, but a tangible manifestation of the faculty’s vision to build an academic tradition that is excellent and responsive to the changing times. We are ensuring that these 30 students receive comprehensive guidance from faculty members. ”The hope is that the work produced will not only be competitive but also capable of representing the depth of scholarship and digital literacy of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab at the ASEAN level,” said the Dean of FUDA.

In line with this, the FUDA Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, M.A., emphasized the importance of this mentoring process as a means of transforming students’ character and skills.

“These thirty selected delegates show great potential in their respective fields, whether in writing, reading, or digital products. Through this intensive mentoring period with our faculty members, we are helping them refine their raw ideas into polished, innovative works. Our goal, of course, is to achieve optimal results at the judging in July, while also proving that our students have soft skills ”and a robust global network,” emphasized the Third Associate Dean of FUDA.

With careful preparation and the full support of the faculty administration, the 30 FUDA students are expected to perform at their best, achieve success, and bring honor to the institution on the international stage.
