HMPS Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis 2026–2027 Meet and Greet

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Kp3b in Banten Province, the HMPS for Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis held an event Meet and Greet as a kickoff event to welcome new students and provide them with a closer look at the academic world, student organizations, and the sense of community within the Department of Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis.

The event began with opening remarks by DEMA-F, followed by a presentation and an in-depth introduction to HMPS IAT by the HMPS IAT Chair. During the session, new students were introduced to the direction of HMPS, the organization’s values, and the role of students as members of the academic community who are not only expected to understand their field of study but also to apply that knowledge in society.

In addition to introducing the organization, this event served as an opportunity to introduce the scope of study in Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis. Students were informed that IAT is not merely about reading and memorizing the Qur’an, but is a broad and in-depth academic field encompassing Ulumul Qur’an, the science of exegesis, exegetical methodology, classical to contemporary exegesis, studies of the language and literature of the Qur’an, asbab al-nuzul, munasabah, qira’at, as well as various approaches to understanding the Qur’an’s message in the context of modern life.

The event then continued with an introduction of the new students as an opportunity to get to know one another, build communication, and foster a sense of community. After that, all members of the HMPS IAT executive board introduced themselves and their respective divisions, which consist of BPH-U, PAO, the Internal Department, the External Department, MINAT and BAKAT, KOMINFO, and the Women’s Empowerment Department.

Each department plays a vital role in keeping the organization running while providing students with opportunities to learn, grow, create, get involved in student organizations, develop their potential, and build networks. Through this introduction, new students are expected not only to get to know the HMPS IAT executive board but also to understand that each department is a space they can utilize to develop their skills and gain experience throughout their college years.

The HMPS IAT Meet and Greet is not merely an introductory event, but rather the first step on the intellectual and organizational journey in the field of Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis. From the classroom to the discussion room, from academic study to community service, and from the learning process to making a positive impact.

Guided by the spirit of “Knowledge, Character, Impact,” the Student Association for Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis is committed to serving as a nurturing environment for students to build a tradition of scholarship, strengthen Qur’anic ethics, develop their potential, and bring the values of the Qur’an to life in the real world.

Because being an IAT student isn't just about studying the Qur’an and interpreting its meaning, but also about how to use the Qur’an as a source of inspiration for understanding life and bringing about meaningful change.
