This course is a continuation or development of kalam (Islamic theology) thought that developed in the archipelago through the study of the thoughts of several religious figures or nusanatara scholars, both in classical and contemporary times. Based on this, the emphasis of this course is to study the kalam thought adopted by Muslim intellectual figures or scholars, namely: Hamzah Fansuri, Nurruddin Al-Raniri, Ahmad Khatib al-Minangkabawi, Nawawi Al-Bantani, Muhammad Arshad al-Banjari, Hasyim As'ari, Ahmad Dahlan, Ahmad Hasan, Hamka, Harun Nasution and Nurcholis Madjid.

  1. Mastering knowledge of the basics of Islam as a religion of rahmatan lil ‘alamin.

Mastering knowledge of the history, growth, and texts of the science of Aqidah and Islamic philosophy broadly, deeply and comprehensively and the dynamics of scientific disciplines, concepts, and methods of the science of Aqidah and Islamic philosophy that are relevant and in the context of the demands of the times.

  1. Students are able to complete assignments in studying the treasures of the development of kalam science in the archipelago.
  2. Students are able to understand the history, growth and development of Kalam science as part of Islamic philosophy from classical to modern phases.
  3. Students are able to explain the process of the development of Islam in the archipelago.
  4. Students are able to explain the thoughts of Nusantara scholars in the classical and contemporary periods and are able to contextualize them with the dynamics of community life and the development of science and technology.
