Academic Quality Improvement: Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab Strengthens Al Jabbar Scheme Collaboration with UIN SGD Bandung

Bandung, December 11, 2025 - Continuous efforts in improving academic quality and institutional governance within the State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten are reinforced today. The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN SMH Banten as the initiator has successfully established cooperation within the framework of the Al Jabbar Scheme with two allied faculties at UIN SGD Bandung, namely the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FUD) and the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN SGD Bandung.
The signing ceremony and series of collaborations were held on the campus of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung and attended by leaders and lecturers from the three faculties. The Al Jabbar scheme itself is a strategic initiative of UIN SMH Banten that focuses on developing the integration of science, improving research, and strengthening Islamic values in the academic context.
Momentum for Cross-Faculty Collaboration
This cooperation covers various aspects, ranging from joint curriculum development, lecturer and student exchanges, collaborative research, to integrated community service. This step is expected to create a positive synergy, especially considering that the three faculties have a strong intersection of disciplines, namely Islam, philosophy, history, and humanities.

“This collaboration is a concrete manifestation of the spirit of ‘one breath’ between faculties at UIN SMH Banten and UIN SGD Bandung. The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Banten believes that the Al Jabbar Scheme will be a catalyst for accelerating the quality of education, especially in the integration of Islamic sciences. We hope that through this collaboration, the quality of our graduates and research contributions can compete at the national and international levels,” said Dr. Masykur, M.Hum, Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN SMH Banten.
On the other hand, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FUD) UIN SGD Bandung, Prof. Dr. Wahyudin Darmalaksana welcomed this strategic initiative.
“We are very excited about this tripartite collaboration. The Al Jabbar scheme initiated by FUDA is the right platform for harmonizing research and teaching. The Faculty of Ushuluddin is ready to integrate our scientific strengths, especially in the fields of theology and philosophy, to produce academic works that are more enlightening and relevant to the challenges of the times,” said Prof. Wahyudin, Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FUD).
Similarly, the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) highlighted the importance of civilizational and cultural dimensions in this collaboration.
“The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) plays a crucial role in the study of history, language and culture. The Al Jabbar Scheme collaboration will enrich our humanities perspective with a deep Ushuluddin dimension. This is a step forward to produce scholars who are not only scientifically superior, but also have high civilization and a comprehensive understanding of Islamic civilization,” concluded Dr. Dedi Supriadi, M.Hum. Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN SGD Bandung.
The event ended with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoA) by the three deans, witnessed by the Vice Deans. This collaboration is officially effective as of December 11, 2025, marking a new chapter of inter-faculty collaboration that is expected to have a significant impact on UIN SMH Banten and UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung.
