UIN Public Relations – The BAZNAS Cendekia Scholarship (BCB) held an event titled “BCB Talks: Road to the 2026 BAZNAS Cendekia Scholarship” in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) on Friday, September 25, 2026. Under the theme “Recipient Synergy: Growing Together Toward BCB 2026,” the event featured Ilman Faqih Shibgotulloh, S.PWK., M.A., the Program Coordinator for the BAZNAS RI Cendekia Scholarship Program in the Education & Vocational Division, as the keynote speaker.
The event was attended by the Dean of FEBI, the BCB Advisor, the Fourth Vice Chair of BAZNAS Banten Province, as well as a number of speakers and students.
In his remarks, the Dean of FEBI, Prof. Dr. Budi Sudrajat, M.A., emphasized the importance of fulfilling three basic rights of students on campus: interests and talents (student interest), supporting facilities (student need), and well-being (student welfare). According to him, of these three aspects, student welfare is the most crucial and strategic.
“Well-being is linked to the fulfillment of students” material needs, including living expenses and tuition. Nowadays, there’s no reason not to be able to attend college because opportunities are everywhere. It all comes down to how much effort we put in and our ability to seize those opportunities,” said Prof. Budi Sudrajat.
To support this well-being, FEBI remains committed to connecting students with various scholarship providers, such as BAZNAS, GenBI, and other philanthropic organizations. Prof. Budi Sudrajat also noted that FEBI independently manages a reserve fund to assist students facing financial difficulties so they do not have to drop out or take a leave of absence from their studies.
“Thanks to the funds currently under our management, alhamdulillah, this semester we were able to help seven students from three programs at FEBI so they wouldn’t have to take a leave of absence. ”Moving forward, we are in the process of establishing a Waqf Management Unit (UPW) at the university level so that the scope of this assistance can be expanded to other faculties,” he added.
Furthermore, Prof. Budi Sudrajat emphasized the important role of Islamic social finance as a pillar of today’s economy. Therefore, FEBI continues to strengthen its academic differentiation by focusing on the halal industry and Islamic social finance, which is now further supported by the establishment of the Sharia Accounting program.
On the same occasion, the Fourth Vice Chair of BAZNAS Banten Province, H. Suhud, outlined various programs through which BAZNAS Banten contributes to supporting education. In addition to the BCB, there are also the “One Family, One College Graduate” (SKSS) scholarship program, assistance with diploma redemption, and support for resolving tuition arrears.
H. Suhud also shared his experiences from his time as a student and campus activist. He urged students to be active in student organizations while still taking responsibility for completing their studies on time.
“I used to be a campus activist, but I still managed to complete my studies in eight semesters. Our SKSS program covered my tuition and living expenses from the first semester through the eighth. So, don’t drag out your studies,” said H. Suhud.
H. Suhud hopes that through this outreach effort, students will be even more motivated to take advantage of every opportunity provided by BAZNAS and the government.
“Through this event, I hope you students will be even more motivated to study. Don’t be lazy—make the most of this opportunity. Listen carefully to the instructions regarding the procedures and requirements so that this can pave the way to your future success,” he concluded.
