Surakarta, October 30, 2025 - Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) of State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin (SMH) Banten conducted a working visit as well as academic activities to Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah (FUD) UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The visit, which was held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, aims to strengthen synergies between Islamic universities and improve academic quality through Benchmarking and Visiting Lecturer activities.
The main activities of this visit are divided into three focuses. First, Benchmarking or comparative study, which focused on the best practices of faculty management, especially in terms of curriculum, administrative governance, and development strategy of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi in FUD UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta.
Second, the Visiting Lecturer program is a place for scientific exchange. A number of expert lecturers from FUDA UIN SMH Banten gave guest lectures to students and academicians of FUD UIN Surakarta and became speakers in international seminars.
Third, the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) which aims to strengthen the implementation of SPMI at the faculty and study program levels. Both parties shared experiences on the implementation of the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement), the preparation of outcome-based education (OBE) quality documents, and strategies for facing accreditation field assessments.
In the Visiting Lecturer session, students of the Quran and Tafsir Science (IAT) Study Program at FUD UIN RMS Surakarta received material and in-depth insights delivered by Dr. H. Endang Saeful Anwar, Hikmatul Luthfi, M.A.Hum and Zulkifli Reza Fahmi, M.A. Meanwhile, in other classes in the Quran and Tafsir Science Program were honored to receive guest lectures from Dr. H. Masrukhin Muhsin, LC, M.A, Muhamad Alif, S.Ag., M.Si and Repa Hudan Lisalam. The presence of these lecturers enriched students' insights into contemporary issues and the latest methodologies in the field of Ushuluddin.
While other speakers, Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Banten, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum delivered his material in an international seminar with the theme of Islamic Philosophy and Local Wisdom in Strengthening Religious Moderation together with Dr. Andi Rosa, M.A.
The Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Masykur, S.Ag., M.Hum., who directly led the group, expressed his appreciation and views regarding this visit.
“This visit is a strategic step for us to continue to improve the quality and competitiveness of the faculty,” said Dr. Masykur. “FUD UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta has a number of innovations and advantages that we should learn from, especially in terms of the integration of Ushuluddin and Adab sciences with the contemporary needs of society.”
He added that the Visiting Lecturer activity involving FUDA UIN Banten Lecturers is one of the efforts to implement more concrete cooperation. “We hope that this kind of collaboration can continue and be expanded, not only for the development of lecturers and students, but also for the progress of the institution as a whole,” he concluded.
This visit is expected to produce concrete recommendations that can be implemented by FUDA UIN SMH Banten to improve governance and academic development. Both faculties agreed to explore further opportunities for cooperation, including joint research, scientific publications, and student exchange programs, in order to produce graduates who are superior and globally competitive.
