FUDA I October 22, 2025 - A warm and lively atmosphere filled Hall of Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) 2nd Floor on Wednesday (22/10), when Islamic Library and Information Science (IPII) Study Program commemorate 4th milad. Not just a birthday celebration, this activity is also coupled with an important and inspiring agenda, namely Selection of IPII Ambassador 2025, This program is one of the study program's efforts in producing a generation of students who excel, have character, and actively contribute to the development of Islamic information literacy.
The event was attended by various elements of the leadership and academic community, including Dean of FUDA, Dr. Masykur, S.Ag., M.Hum., Vice Dean for Student Affairs Dr. H. Endang Saeful Anwar, M.A, Chairperson and Secretary of the IPII Study Program, as well as students and female students across generations. Their presence is proof of full support for the development and existence of the IPII Study Program which has now entered a more mature age.
Dean's Remarks: IPII Must Become a Space for Achievement
In his speech, Dr. Masykur, S.Ag., M.Hum. emphasized the importance of making the anniversary moment as a place for evaluation and reflection, as well as a spur to create spaces for achievement within the study program.
“The next anniversary must be used as an arena for academic and non-academic achievements. Because the age of IPII is now mature and of course it can give birth to a more advanced IPII generation, ” he said.
He also hoped that all IPII academicians would always maintain cohesiveness, a spirit of collaboration, and expand networking and innovation, both at the local, national and international levels.
Selection of IPII Ambassador 2025: Representing the Superior Character of IPII Students
One of the highlights of the activity is Selection of IPII Ambassador 2025, This event aims to select student figures who are not only academically proficient, but also have a leadership spirit, good public communication, and broad insight into literacy, information, and IPII.
The selection process was rigorous and fair, guided by professional jury which consists of IPII lecturers, FUDA Ambassador 2025, and Literacy Ambassador 2025. The participants showed their best skills in the presentation, question and answer session, and talent and interest show.
Through this event, it is hoped that the best ambassadors will be selected. role model for other students and participate in promoting the positive values of IPII Study Program on various occasions, both on campus and outside.
Art Performance and Togetherness: Celebrating Milad with Joy
In addition to the formal agenda, the milad event was also enlivened with a variety of student art performance which illustrated the creativity and collaborative spirit between the classes. From poetry recitation, acoustic music performance, to literacy-themed drama, all were performed with passion.
Not to forget, the symbol of togetherness is realized through birthday cake cutting, This event marked four years of existence of IPII Study Program as part of FUDA UIN SMH Banten.
This moment of togetherness further strengthens the relationship between students, lecturers, and study program leaders, and strengthens the collective identity as part of the IPII family.
Expectations of the Head of Study Program: Strengthening the Quality of Graduates and the Image of the Study Program
In his speech, Head of IPII Study Program, Verry Mardianto, M.A., inviting the entire community to make this anniversary as important momentum in strengthening the direction and quality of education in the IPII Study Program.
“This anniversary is not just a celebration, but an evaluation moment for us together. We want to produce excellent graduates, not only in terms of professional competence in the field of library and information, but also active and adaptive in various student activities and the dynamics of society.” he said.
He also said that the IPII Study Program is committed to continuing to develop itself as a a center of excellence in Islamic information literacy, It is not only relevant at the regional level, but also nationally and even internationally.
Real Steps Toward a Literacy Center of Excellence
Over the past four years, IPII Study Program has carried out various academic and non-academic activities that support student competence. Starting from librarianship workshops, national information literacy seminars, digital library training, to collaborative research and community service.
In the future, IPII Study Program targets to increase accreditation, strengthen cooperation networks with national and international Islamic information institutions, and develop an industry-based curriculum and the needs of the times.
