This course teaches about the basics and steps in conducting research. By studying it, one will understand the process by which knowledge is produced. Thus students, as prospective scholars, are expected to be able to think scientifically in facing the various challenges of life they face.

This course is a further development of the courses you have studied in previous semesters, namely: Philosophy of Science and Methodology of Islamic Studies. If the two previous courses were more philosophical and paradigmatic, then this course will emphasize more on things that are more technical and instrumental, meaning that it is the embodiment of things that are still in the level of ideas in the order of implementation.

This course is a methodological provision for students as prospective scholars to have the ability and experience in conducting a research that is realized in a “thesis”. Because someone will not be able to do a good research without having adequate methodological skills in a research or research.
