Serang, 27 February- Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten conducted academic socialization activities to MAN 1 Serang Regency as part of an effort to introduce the world of lectures as well as broaden the insight of Islamic science to class XII students.
This enthusiastic activity presented lecturers and student representatives to explain the faculty profile, study opportunities, and graduate career prospects. The students seemed active in discussing and asking questions about study programs, campus life, and scholarship opportunities.
In their presentation, the team from UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten explained that the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab has six study programs that not only focus on mastering Islamic texts, but are also relevant to current global challenges.
History of Islamic Civilization Study Program: Reading the Past to Build the Future
The History of Islamic Civilization (SPI) Study Program introduces the importance of understanding the dynamics of Muslim history from classical to contemporary times. Students not only study historical events, but also conduct critical studies of civilization, great figures of Islam, and the contribution of Muslims in science and world culture. SPI graduates have career opportunities as researchers, educators, writers, and archive and museum managers.
Arabic Language and Literature Study Program: Penetrating the World through the Language of the Qur'an
The Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) Study Program emphasizes the mastery of active and communicative Arabic language skills, both oral and written. In addition, students also study classical and modern Arabic literature, translation, and linguistic studies. With these competencies, BSA graduates have prospects as translators, diplomats, academics, journalists, and professionals in the international field.
Hadith Science Program: Understanding Sunnah Critically and Contextually
The Hadith Science Study Program equips students with the ability to research, understand, and study Prophetic Hadith in depth, both from the sanad and matan aspects. The academic approach used is not only textual, but also contextual, so that students are able to answer contemporary problems based on authoritative hadith studies.
Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy Study Program: Answering the Challenges of Modern Thought
Meanwhile, the Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy (AFI) Study Program invites students to explore Islamic theology, classical and modern philosophical thought, and dialogue between religion and science. This study program forms students who are critical, argumentative, and able to provide rational answers to various religious and social issues in the digital era.
The Head of MAN 1 Serang Regency in his speech expressed his appreciation for the visit. He emphasized the importance of continuing education to higher education, especially within UIN.
“UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin is our home, so MAN children are obliged to study at UIN,” he said to the applause of the students.
He also hopes that this socialization activity can open students' insights about study options that suit their interests and talents, and strengthen their commitment to continue higher education.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab emphasized its commitment to continue to establish synergies with madrasas and high schools in order to produce a generation of Muslim intellectuals with integrity, moderation, and global competitiveness.
