FUDA | September 25, 2025 - The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten held a Studium General for the Odd Semester Academic Year 2025/2026 in the FUDA 2nd Floor Hall. This activity was attended by the academic community, ranging from deans, lecturers, education staff, to students.
This Studium General raised the theme “Becoming a Superior Faculty in the Global Era: Ushuluddin and Adab in the Perspective of Interconnection and Banten Wisdom.” The main speaker was Prof. Ismatu Ropi, M.A., Ph.D., Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
The event was also enlivened with dances and folk songs typical of Banten, as a form of strengthening local wisdom values in line with the theme carried.
In his speech, the Dean of FUDA UIN SMH Banten expressed his gratitude to be in touch with Prof. Ismatu Ropi. He emphasized the importance of studium general as an expert lecture that must be attended by students. Interestingly, the dean also gave an interactive quiz about the meaning of Banten's local wisdom with prizes for students who successfully answered.
“As scholars, we must be able to adapt to global developments. Challenges in the digital era require internationalization of the curriculum. For this reason, FUDA will continue to collaborate, one of which is with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta,” he said.
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was also signed between FUDA UIN SMH Banten and Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This cooperation covers the fields of education, research, community service, human resource improvement, and student development.
In his presentation, Prof. Ismatu Ropi emphasized the importance of reviving Banten's scientific treasures. “Banten is a place of stopover. If we can develop the scientific treasures of great figures like Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani, it will be extraordinary. Use your youth as well as possible, because the skills and capacities you build today will save you in the future,” he said.
Through this activity, FUDA emphasizes its commitment to develop critical, responsive, and relevant knowledge to the needs and challenges of the times, without leaving the roots of local wisdom.
