Jakarta - Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin (SMH) Banten officially ended the series of AlJabbar Year 2025 cooperation with Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an (LPMQ), Tuesday (23/12/2025). The activity that took place in the LPMQ Meeting Room Hall, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta area became a strategic momentum in strengthening Qur'anic literacy as well as confirming academic synergy between universities and state institutions.
The event began with a signing update Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between LPMQ Jakarta and FUDA UIN SMH Banten. This MoA renewal is the last part of a series of strengthening AlJabbar 2025 cooperation that has been productively established in the fields of Qur'anic studies, education, and Ushuluddin scientific development.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., emphasized that the arrival of the FUDA team to LPMQ had two main purposes.
“First, we are here to renew the MoA that has been well established. This is the last part of a series of strengthening AlJabbar cooperation in 2025, we again say that the AlJabbar Scheme involves universities and institutions in the Jakarta, Banten, Bandung and Cirebon areas,” he said.
At the level of academic implementation, the Dean of FUDA also conveyed a critical reflection by questioning the absence of tafsir with a falsafi character published by LPMQ.
“We see that falsafi tafsir has urgency in answering contemporary humanitarian problems. Therefore, we question why until now LPMQ has not published a tafsir with a falsafi character,” he said.
In response, the Head of Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf al-Qur'an (LPMQ), Dr. H. Abdul Aziz Sidqi, M.A., expressed his welcome to the FUDA UIN SMH Banten group while introducing the strategic role of LPMQ under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. He emphasized that Bayt al-Qur'an is the only Qur'an museum owned by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, and until now more than 40 Faculties of Ushuluddin and Adab have established MoA with LPMQ, which shows the increasingly strong synergy between LPMQ and the academic world of Ushuluddin and Adab.
Abdul Aziz Sidqi also explained the three main functions of LPMQ: as an institution for inaugurating the Qur'anic recitation; as a center for the study and development of Qur'anic interpretation; and as the manager of the Qur'an Museum and Bayt al-Qur'an. He emphasized that Indonesia is the most innovative country in the publication of the Qur'anic mushaf, and opens strategic career opportunities for graduates of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, especially the Qur'an and Tafsir Science Study Program (IAT), through the functional position of pentashih and tafsir developer.
As an academic implementation of the MoA update, the activity continued with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme of “Measuring the Falsafi Interpretation Approach in Cracking Contemporary Humanitarian Problems”. In this session, Dr. Agus Ali Dzawafi, M.Fil.I, Lecturer of Aqidah and Philosophy of Islam (AFI) FUDA UIN SMH Banten, emphasized the importance of Tafsir Falsafi and the importance of Tafsir Falsafi. Interpretation Isyari as an inner approach that enriches the treasures of Qur'anic interpretation and builds ethical and spiritual awareness in the midst of a modern humanitarian crisis.
“Tafsir isyari presents the inner dimension of the Qur'an which plays an important role in building human spiritual and ethical awareness. In the context of contemporary humanity, the Sufism approach becomes very relevant to overcome the crisis of meaning and dehumanization,” he explained.
He added that the integration of tafsir falsafi and tafsir isyari can be a constructive methodological offer in the development of Qur'anic interpretation in the future.
Closing the series of activities, Vice Dean III of FUDA UIN SMH Banten, Endang Saeful Anwar, expressed his appreciation for the strategic cooperation that has been built through the AlJabbar program. He emphasized that the collaboration between FUDA and LPMQ not only has an institutional dimension, but also has a direct impact on strengthening academic quality, Qur'anic literacy, and developing student competencies.
“We see this AlJabbar collaboration as a strategic space to bring together the campus academic tradition with the state's scientific authority. In the future, we hope that the synergy between FUDA and LPMQ can continue to be expanded in the form of collaborative research, strengthening the capacity of students and lecturers, and the birth of Qur'anic scientific products that contribute to the people and nation,” he said.
With the end of the AlJabbar 2025 cooperation series, FUDA UIN SMH Banten and LPMQ are optimistic that the partnership that has been built will continue in a sustainable manner in an effort to strengthen Qur'anic literacy that is contextual, moderate, and oriented towards the benefit of the people.
