HAINAN, CHINA - Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten officially expanded its cooperation to the international arena. During an official visit that took place from February 2 to 6, 2026, FUDA signed a strategic cooperation with Hainan College of Foreign Studies, Hainan Province, China.
This step is the implementation of the Al-Baasith Scheme, a grand vision of the deanate to build strong networks in West Asia, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. This scheme was rolled out following the success of the Al-Jabbar scheme, which previously focused on strengthening local and domestic networks.
Research and Service Collaboration in Sanya
This partnership is not just a ceremony on paper. The main focus of this partnership includes:
- Collaborative International Research: Joint research between FUDA academics and Hainan College of Foreign Studies.
- International Community Service: Social and educational activities centered on the Nankai Mosque, Sanya, to strengthen cross-cultural and religious relationships.
The delegation in Hainan gave an optimistic view of the future of this cooperation:
Dr. Masykur, M.Hum (Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddim and Adab UIN SMH Banten) stated the purpose of this visit to China.

“This signing is a milestone for FUDA. After the success of the Al-Jabbar Scheme at the local level, through this Al-Baastih Scheme we want to prove that the academic and service quality of UIN Banten is able to compete and give color in East Asia, especially in Hainan.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, M.A (Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation of FUDA) explained that:
“This international cooperation is an entry point for our students and lecturers to engage in the global arena. Our focus is to ensure the implementation of PkM at the Nankai Mosque is sustainable, so that FUDA's presence is felt by the Muslim community in Sanya.”
Another participant, Dr. Andi Rosa, M.A as Head of Hadith Science said:
“From the study program's perspective, this collaborative research will enrich our literature and research methodology. Exchanging ideas with institutions in China provides a new perspective in looking at social and religious dynamics in East Asia.”
This visit is expected to pave the way for further collaborations under the umbrella of the Al-Baasith Scheme in order to realize the vision of UIN SMH Banten as a superior and leading campus at the international level.
