The activity, which was enthusiastically attended by hundreds of FUDA students, carried an important theme: “From Ushuluddin and Adab for Peace: Caring for Religious Moderation as the Intellectual Identity of UIN SMH Banten Students.”
This seminar aims to equip students with an in-depth understanding of the concept and practice of religious moderation, making it the basis for thinking and behaving in campus and community life.
Emphasis on 10 (ten) Pillars of Religious Moderation
The main speaker, Dr. Nurul Huda Maarif, MA, in his presentation emphasized that religious moderation for UIN students is a manifestation of the discipline of Ushuluddin and Adab itself.

“Religious moderation does not mean diluting beliefs, but how we practice religion with religious moderation attitudes such as tawassuth (middle way), i'tidal (fair), and tawazun (balanced),” said Dr. Nurul Huda Maarif. He added that FUDA students, with a background in religious sciences and humanities, have an intellectual responsibility to become agents of peace. “Caring for religious moderation is our way of showing that the intellectual identity of UIN graduates is an identity that is inclusive, tolerant, non-violent, and committed to nationality,” he concluded.

Dean of FUDA UIN Banten, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum in his speech, expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this seminar and emphasized the importance of moderation for the academic community.

“We hope that this seminar will be a valuable provision for all students to not only master religious knowledge in depth, but also be able to implement it contextually and peacefully. Religious Moderation is the distinctive character of UIN Banten,” said the Dean.

In line with the Dean, the Chief Executive of the Religious Moderation Seminar for FUDA Students, who is also the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation of FUDA, also highlighted the role of students as the frontline.
“This activity is FUDA's commitment in producing complete students: intellectually smart, spiritually mature, and polite in behavior. The challenges ahead are increasingly complex, and students must be pioneers in reducing the potential for extremism in the public sphere,” explained Vice Rector 3. He also thanked the active participation of students who showed high enthusiasm in understanding moderate values.

The National Seminar was closed with an interactive discussion session that allowed students to dig deeper into the implementation of religious moderation in everyday life, emphasizing the role of FUDA UIN Banten as a center for the development of peaceful and adaptive Islamic science.
