First General Assembly of the Student Senate of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten: Towards Inclusive Ormawa Fuda in the Era of Efficiency

FUDA I Friday (March 07, 2025) - The Student Senate of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten successfully held the first General Assembly of 2025 which took place in the FUDA Hall on the 2nd floor. This event is entitled “Towards Inclusive Fuda Ormawa in the Era of Efficiency” which is an important momentum for all Student Organizations of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten to present work programs that will be carried out in the next management year.
This activity was attended by the 2025 Ushuluddin and Adab Faculty Student Senate management as a review board, as well as representatives from various Ormawa under the FUDA KBM. The Ormawa that participated in this session included the Student Executive Board (DEMA FUDA), the Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) Study Program Student Association (HMPS), the Qur'an and Tafsir Science (IAT) HMPS, the Islamic Library and Information Science (IPII) HMPS, the History of Islamic Civilization (SPI) HMPS, the Hadith Science HMPS (IH), and the Islamic Akidah and Philosophy (AFI) HMPS.
In this activity, each Ormawa is given the opportunity to explain the work program plan, including the background of the activity, the time of implementation, and the expected impacts and benefits. This presentation aims to ensure that every activity that will be carried out gets approval and recommendations from the Faculty Student Senate. Then from each ORMAWA in the presentation of its work program, not a few are carried out on the same day. So, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab Student Senate as a Legislative Organization that has a Controlling role has provided a solution by creating a FUDA ORMAWA calendar which is an alternative so that there are no clashes related to the use of campus facilities such as the Faculty Hall etc.
Apart from discussing work programs, several sessions also highlighted the impact of budget efficiency on student organizations. This is because the micro-scale concern about the efficiency of the education fund budget is the sustainability of student organizations (Ormawa). The Central Government's move to cut the education budget is considered not in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD RI). That the education budget is at least 20 percent of the state budget (APBN). According to Zaenal Ihya as the General Secretary of the Student Senate of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab also responded that the concern of efficiency was not an obstacle to how ORMAWA FUDA could continue to exist in branding its ORMAWA in order to attract student attention. “The complexity of the problem is indeed very pronounced, especially with the condition of ORMAWA now that there are no enthusiasts, plus the budget cut policy. However, FUDA ORMAWA friends can focus on activities that are really what students need, such as holding academic studies / forums in accordance with the scientific clumps of their study programs or organizing training by utilizing existing facilities, ”he explained.

During the sidelines of the event, the leaders of ORMAWA FUDA discussed how effective and efficient management of activity funds can ensure the continuity of organizational activities without reducing the quality of all work programs. Then, they agreed that transparency, careful planning, and innovation in finding alternative funding sources are steps that need to be taken so that ORMAWA FUDA can remain productive in the midst of the current era of efficiency.
This General Assembly I ended with the reading of the provisions of all FUDA ORMAWA work programs that had been formulated by the presidium of the session. Thus, all FUDA ORMAWA are committed to carrying out the work programs that have been prepared with full responsibility.
Taoyekh Nawawi as Chairman of the FUDA 2025 Student Senate expressed his hope that student organizations at FUDA will be more solid, innovative, and able to bring real benefits to students and the surrounding environment. “Hopefully this first general assembly will be a good start for the FUDA 2025 Ormawa management in presenting quality and useful programs for all students, especially in the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab,” he said.
With the implementation of this General Assembly I, the Chairman of SEMA FUDA also provided a stimulus for HMPS throughout FUDA that they must be more professional, active, and contribute to building an academic climate and establishing better social relations with students at the department level. Because, in the end, the presence of the HMPS work program that will be implemented in the future is also felt by students in general and not only by the administrators.
