SERANG - Auditorium of State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin (SMH) Banten was packed with 475 students and 24 accompanying teachers from SMAN 6 Tangerang Regency on Wednesday (6/5/2026). This educational visit is part of campus socialization activities focused on introducing UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten (UIN SMH Banten) to prospective students, in order to provide a comprehensive insight into the world of higher education.
Delivering a message from the Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Vice Rector 3 for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Dedi Sunardi, warmly welcomed the arrival of the school group.
“The Rector sends his greetings and highest appreciation to the big family of SMAN 6 Tangerang Regency. UIN SMH Banten is always open and ready to become a crater for young people who want to integrate modern science with Islamic values. We hope that this visit in the auditorium room will be the first step for students to knit a brilliant future with this beloved campus,” he said when opening the event.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum. In a separate place, he motivated the students not to hesitate to choose FUDA as a foundation for gaining knowledge and forming character.
“Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab has a strong commitment in producing graduates who are not only academically intelligent, but also have spiritual depth and high social sensitivity. In the midst of current digitalization and information disruption, the humanities, social, and Islamic studies that we offer are even more relevant to answer the challenges of the times while maintaining the value order in society,” said Dr. Masykur.
The core session of the socialization was delivered by the Vice Dean III of FUDA UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, M.A. who acted as the main speaker. He explained in detail about the advantages of various study programs, campus facilities, student dynamics, and career prospects for FUDA graduates.
“We want to erase the stigma that Ushuluddin and Adab studies are left behind or have bleak future prospects.madesu). Here, students are encouraged to think critically, analytically, and adaptively to technological developments. Through directed student development, FUDA students are active in research, high standard academic publications, to advocacy and community service. We are ready to assist and guide all of you to become innovative and moral agents of change. There are 6 study programs in FUDA that are accredited as excellent and very good from BANPT, namely Science of the Qur'an and Tafsir, History of Islamic Civilization, Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy, Hadith Science, Arabic Language and Literature, and Islamic Library and Information Science, ”explained Dr. Endang in front of hundreds of students who listened enthusiastically.
Furthermore, he highlighted the vast international networking opportunities that FUDA students can get. “Through targeted student development, we not only encourage high-standard academic research and publications, but also open up access to the global stage. Currently, FUDA has established active overseas cooperation with various institutions in China, Uzbekistan, Egypt, and Turkey. In fact, as a concrete manifestation of strengthening international relations, we have an exclusive facility ‘Iran Corner’ which is a center for literacy, civilization studies, and cultural exchanges with Iran, and Said Nursi Corner,” he added.
Responding to the extraordinary welcome from the campus, the Principal of SMAN 6 Tangerang Regency, H. Santani, M.Si., expressed his gratitude and high hopes for this activity.
“This visit is a strategic agenda for our school to open the children's insight into the world of campus, especially to see firsthand the academic atmosphere at UIN SMH Banten. We hope that after hearing the extraordinary presentation from the leaders of the Rectorate and Faculty, the students will be more motivated to continue their education to a higher level and be more confident in determining the direction of their future study choices,” said H. Santani.
This interactive socialization activity ended with a question and answer session, handover of souvenirs from both parties, and joint documentation.
