Students of IAT Fuda Study Program of UIN SMH Banten won 2nd place in the 39th MTQH at the West Java Provincial Level

Fuda - Wednesday, June 25, 2025 - Melisa Haryati, a student of Al-Qur'an and Tafsir Science Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, made a proud achievement in a non-academic event. She became the second winner in the Hadith Hifdzil Competition (500 traditions without sanad) at the 39th Qur'an and Hadith Competition (MTQH) at the West Java Province level held in Bandung on June 14-22, 2025.

This achievement is proof of the existence and implementation of the expertise of Qur'anic Science and Tafsir students not only in the academic realm, but also in spiritual and religious competitions.

In his speech, the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, emphasized the spiritual meaning of MTQH.

“This MTQ is not a Formula E race forum, not a league forum. This is a forum for spirituality. It is not important who is the overall champion, first, second, or third. The most important thing is how the Qur'an becomes the light for the organizers to act fairly, becomes the light for the governor to be wise in policy, and becomes the light in the hearts of the leaders so that fair actions are born. From the Qur'an reading movement, we hope to liberate the poor, build orphans, and raise a civilization of mutual care, compassion, and nurturing,” he said.

Melisa, when interviewed, expressed her gratitude for her achievement:

“Alhamdulillah, it is an honor to be able to win 2nd place at the West Java Provincial MTQH in the Hadith 500 branch. I dedicate this achievement to my beloved campus, coaches, family, teachers, and all those who always provide support. Hopefully this achievement will be a motivation to continue to explore the Prophet's hadith and practice it in everyday life. This is not the end, but the beginning of a broader da'wah and scientific journey.”

Melisa also hopes that this competition can be a trigger of enthusiasm for other students to continue practicing and developing potential, especially in the field of MTQ.
