IAT Study Program Holds PPL Orientation

Fuda - Tuesday, July 08, 2025 - The Al-Qur'an and Tafsir Science (IAT) Study Program of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten successfully held a Field Professional Practicum (PPL) Orientation with the theme “Improving literacy and digitalization of the Qur'an in society”.

This activity took place in the Hall of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab and was attended by 117 7th semester students who will carry out PPL in various Islamic boarding schools and religious institutions in the Serang area, Banten.

The event was attended by various important figures of the faculty, including the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, Dr. Mohamad Hudaeri, M. Ag., Head of the Department of Qur'anic Sciences and Tafsir, Dr. H. Endang Saeful Anwar, Lc., M.A., and Secretary of the Department, Hikmatul Luthfi, MA. Hum, Head of Administration of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, Raden Suryanto, SE, M.Si, PPL resource person, Fahmi Raudhatul Ulum, M.A along with other lecturers and education staff.

The orientation program, hosted by Diah's students, was followed by a recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Ziad Wifqil Murod. This activity is designed to provide practical experience to students in applying the knowledge they have learned in the field. Students will go directly to the community or related institutions to observe, analyze, and participate in activities related to the science of Al-Quran and tafsir. In the opening speech session, the Head of IAT Study Program, Dr. H. Endang Saeful Anwar, Lc., M.A., conveyed several important points of the purpose and objectives of the PPL. “First, that PPL is intended to implement what has been learned in the classroom, practiced in the context of developing the profile of the department, namely to become competent beginner mufasirs and conduct research in the field of Qur'anic Science and Interpretation professionally,” Endang said. Therefore, the output of this PPL activity is that students make individual reports related to the implementation of activities and produce ISBN books in groups and they will be distributed to 10 areas in Serang Regency, ”added the Head of IAT Study Program.

Dr. Mohamad Hudaeri, M.Ag. as the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab in his speech said that the theme carried out in this year's PPL is very interesting, namely increasing literacy and digitalization of the Qur'an in the midst of society. “This PPL is an important moment for students to not only interact directly with the community through pesantren, but also to use digital media as a means of spreading Qur'anic values that are relevant to the times,” he said. In the future, it is hoped that PPL can target groups and communities that are not widely touched such as the Banten muallaf bina, the disabled community and the punk community. “They need our touch, especially how they can learn the Qur'an, so these students can be optimized in learning the Qur'an to them,” added the Dean. “One thing that students need to remember when going into the community is to maintain the attitude and good name of the alma mater of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN SMH Banten, especially the good name of the Qur'anic Science and Interpretation Study Program which must be reflected in appearance, speech and behavior during the PPL,” concluded the Dean to end his remarks while releasing the PPL implementation of the IAT Study Program.
