FUDA I Tuesday (April 22, 2025) - The Student Association of the Study Program (HMPS) History of Islamic Civilization (SPI) Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten has finished holding a historical talk show held at the Fuda Hall 2nd Floor on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This activity is open to the public and free of charge. Followed by SPI students and students outside SPI who are still within the scope of the Faculty of Ushuludin and Adab. This activity took place at 09.00 to 11.45, Talkshow with the theme “The Role of the Young Generation in Preserving History in the Digital Age”.
Alan, as the Chairperson of HMPS SPI, said that this Talkshow activity is expected to be able to re-interest students in history in this digitalization era.
“We hold this event as a space for reflection, discussion, and also learning for all of us, to re-understand the importance of history, not only as a record of the past, but as a mirror and lesson to build the future,” he said.
In his speech Alan added:
“In accordance with the Latin expression that we often hear and become our jargon, “Historia Vitae Magistra”, history is the teacher of life. Through history, we learn to understand our identity, strengthen our cultural values, and raise awareness of our role as the next generation,” he continued.
In the same place, Nandang Sunandar, as the Secretary of the Department (Sekjur) of the History of Islamic Civilization (SPI), Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten in his speech as well as opening the event gave a speech saying that SPI has 3 goals that are expected to be achieved by SPI students, namely as: Educators, Researchers and Culturalists.
In addition, he conveyed in his remarks regarding this talk show that history students can utilize technology as a medium in strengthening history.
“Utilize digital as a reinforcement of the history we learn,” he said.
After the opening session and remarks from the general chairman of HMPS SPI and the SPI Study Secretary, this activity was continued with the main event, namely the Historical talk show with the theme The Role of the Young Generation in Preserving History in the Digital Age which was hosted by the SPI ambassador, Maulana Musyafa with Abah Yadi as the speaker.
In the delivery of material related to the theme of this Talkshow, there are minutes that can be summarized as follows:
- Historical objects that must be preserved are Culture
- It is not the history that should be preserved but the culture
- Digitization should be put to good use in the dissemination of historical authenticity
This activity was then closed with a prayer together, as a form of hope that the knowledge gained in this talk show can bring benefits and blessings to all participants.
