Student Senate of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab Holds Audience with the Dean: Discussing Facilities Improvement and Strengthening the Tri Dharma of Higher Education

FUDA I October 14, 2025 - The Student Senate of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (SEMA-F) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten held an audience with faculty leaders in the Dean's Meeting Room. This meeting is a forum for open dialog between students and the dean to discuss various important issues related to improving facilities and infrastructure as well as strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education within the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN SMH Banten.

The audience was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, Dr. Masykur, S.Ag., M.Hum., Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. H. Endang Saeful Anwar, Lc., M.A., and Head of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, Raden Suryanto, SE, M.Si. While from the student side, SEMA-F Chairman Taosyekh Nawawi, Ash-Shaf Muzaki, Zainal Ihya, Imam Muzayyin, Fabi Fauzul Alim and Gunawan Alfaridzahal were present.

In this dynamic and constructive forum, SEMA-F conveyed several student aspirations related to the actual conditions in the faculty environment taken from the SEMA-F recess results through a google form distributed to students. Some of the main points highlighted include:

  • Repair of classrooms and learning facilities that are still considered not optimal, such as classroom doors, blackboards and air conditioning devices (AC) that are not optimal.
  • Improvement of Mushola facilities in the lower room, starting from the availability of mukena, ablution facilities that are somewhat damaged and the comfort of the mushola as a place of worship.
  • Improvement of the bathroom space.
  • Optimization of library services, both in terms of literature collection and operational time.
  • Availability of representative student activity spaces for the development of academic and non-academic activities.
  • Optimize the use of the FUDA hallway or courtyard and the availability of a Smoking Area so that it remains beautiful and clean.
  • Improved lecturer performance in the teaching and education process
  • Optimizing the role of Academic Advisors
  • Performance of education personnel in academic and student services

Chairman of SEMA-F Ushuluddin and Adab, Taosyekh Nawawi in delivering his aspirations emphasized that improving facilities and support for Tri Dharma activities is not only a technical need, but a form of shared responsibility to present a superior academic atmosphere.

“We came not to make confrontational demands, but to invite the dean to jointly build a more appropriate and productive faculty environment for students,” he said.

In response, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the initiative of the Faculty Student Senate which has attempted to capture complaints and complaints from students in order to improve the quality of the Faculty. He emphasized that the dean is open to constructive criticism and input from students.

“We really appreciate the critical spirit and concern of the students. Everything submitted today is a reflection of a sense of belonging to the faculty. We will follow up on this proposal, especially regarding the improvement of facilities and increased support for academic activities.” Dr. Masykur said.

Furthermore, he added that several improvements to facilities will be immediately followed up in the 2025 current year budget plan including the repair of classroom air conditioners, bathrooms and improved faculty internet access. And those that become the territory of the Rectorate will be immediately submitted for repair. For this reason, the Head of the Faculty should record and carry out periodic maintenance of these facilities and make a letter addressed to the Chancellor so that immediate repairs and optimization of the Faculty's facilities and pre-facilities are carried out.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, M.A. emphasized his commitment in strengthening productive and academically oriented student activities.

“We are currently preparing a student research assistance program and guidance for preparing activity proposals so that student organizations are more focused and administratively facilitated. Next year, we will also launch the ‘FUDA Greets Students’ as a routine forum between leaders and students,” he explained.

He also emphasized the importance of sustainable synergy between student organizations and the faculty in developing student potential based on the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, education, research, and community service.

This audience took place in an open academic atmosphere and full of collaborative spirit. Through this activity, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab affirms its commitment to continue to improve, involving students as strategic partners in realizing a superior, humanist and competitive faculty.

“We want the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab to be a shared home - a place where students grow, empower, and contribute to science and society,” Dean Masykur concluded in his final statement. (Esafa)
