Strengthening Academic, FUDA UIN SMH Banten and FAH UIN Jakarta Hold Socialization of SPI Master & Doctoral Programs

SERANG - The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten received a strategic visit from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The meeting which took place in the FUDA 2nd Floor Meeting Room focused on the Socialization and Promotion of the Master (S2) and Doctoral (S3) Study Programs in the History of Islamic Civilization (SPI).
This event is an important momentum for both institutions to strengthen academic cooperation, especially in developing human resources through postgraduate education.
HR Development Commitment
The Dean of FUDA UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., in his speech warmly welcomed the delegation from Jakarta. He emphasized the importance of synergy between Islamic universities to produce qualified history experts.

“The presence of the team from UIN Jakarta to our campus is not just a socialization, but a bridge for our alumni and lecturers to continue the scientific relay. We fully encourage the FUDA academic community to take opportunities in UIN Jakarta's SPI Master and Doctoral programs which have been historically and quality tested,” said Dr. Masykur.

Research Collaboration Opportunities
In line with this, Vice Dean 1 for Academic Affairs of FAH UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Ida Farida, M.LIS, said that this collaboration is expected to increase research interest in the field of history and humanities.

“We would like to invite colleagues at UIN Banten to join the academic ecosystem at FAH UIN Jakarta. With the spirit of integration of knowledge, we believe that graduates from Banten will bring a rich perspective of local history to be developed at the national and international levels,” said Dr. Ida.

Towards Future Historians
The highlight of the event was filled with an in-depth presentation from the Head of SPI UIN Jakarta S2 & S3 Study Program, Prof. Dr. Jajat Burhanuddin. He dissected the curriculum, scholarship opportunities, to the focus of research that is superior in the study program he leads.

“Our SPI Master and Doctoral programs are designed to produce historians who not only memorize data, but are able to conduct critical analysis of Islamic civilization. We are waiting for intellectual contributions from the big family of UIN SMH Banten to jointly revive the glory of Islamic history through academic channels,” said Prof. Jajat.

The meeting was closed with an interactive question and answer session and hospitality. This collaboration is expected to be followed up soon by sending student delegations or collaborative research between the two faculties in the future.
