FUDA I Tuesday (November 18, 2025) - The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten again shows its commitment in improving the academic quality of students through the implementation of Journal Article Writing Training (PESANJU) on November 18-20, 2025. This activity was attended by 30 students from various Study Programs, namely Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy (AFI), Al-Qur'an Science and Tafsir (IAT), Arabic Language and Literature (BSA), History of Islamic Civilization (SPI), and Islamic Library and Information Science (IPII).
The training aims to equip students with technical and academic skills in writing and publishing quality scientific articles. In addition, this activity is part of the faculty's strategy to strengthen academic culture while improving the quality of the final project as one of the important indicators of graduate quality.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., emphasized that improving the quality of student scientific work is a fundamental part of improving the quality of graduates and the reputation of the faculty. He said:
“Improving the quality of graduates cannot be separated from the quality of students' final scientific work. Within the framework of the curriculum Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the final project is an important instrument for assessing the achievement of the learning outcome. Therefore, improving the quality of scientific work not only supports the academic quality of students, but also strengthens the reputation of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab as a whole.”
He also emphasized the importance of SLOs for each Study Program as a reference in preparing the curriculum, learning process, and student final project. According to him, the final project must be able to reflect students' analytical, critical, creative abilities, as well as communication and collaboration skills.
To achieve these standards, the Dean emphasized the need for three strategic steps: improving the quality of lecturer guidance, increasing access to resources, especially turats literature, and strengthening students' analytical and critical abilities through workshops and training. Journal article writing training, he said, is one of the concrete steps that must be continuously strengthened.
This training provides two major benefits for students. First, it improves the ability to write and publish research results. Second, it opens up opportunities to increase students' academic visibility through publications in scientific journals. Participants also received materials related to the structure of scientific articles, techniques for selecting suitable journals, the process of writing a scientific article, and the writing process. submission, to strategies for dealing with revisions from reviewers.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the PESANJU 2025 activity committee who is also the Vice Dean III of FUDA, Endang Saeful Anwar, expressed his hope that this training would not only result in improved writing skills, but also create a more productive academic ecosystem within the faculty.
“We hope that this activity can be a trigger for the birth of academic communities at FUDA, both in article writing, website management, and the field of academic writing," he said. content creator. Endang Saeful Anwar added that the existence of an academic community will encourage a continuous learning process, so that students not only understand article writing techniques, but are also actively involved in the world of publications, digital media management, and scientific content production.
Through this training, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the structure of scientific articles, techniques for choosing the right journal, strategies for writing scientific articles, and how to write scientific articles. submission, and how to respond to the process review.
