UIN Public Relations – Kamaruddin Amin, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, officially inaugurated the executive board of the Forum of Bureau Chiefs and Division Heads of State-Run Religious Universities (PTKN) in Jakarta on Monday (September 21, 2026). The installation ceremony served as an important milestone for the PTKN bureaucracy to strengthen institutional governance that is more modern, adaptive, and responsive to technological developments.
In his remarks, Kamaruddin Amin emphasized that the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) within PTKN has become an absolute necessity that must be implemented comprehensively and in a planned manner. Kamaruddin proposed that the bureau leadership immediately develop an AI training program for employees to enhance work effectiveness.
“AI is extremely important, and we can no longer ignore it. I propose that we schedule AI training for our employees. AI is absolutely essential, and at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, I will also ask all bureaus to learn about, understand, and make use of this highly advanced technology,” Kamaruddin Amin emphasized during his briefing.
On the same occasion, Zaenuri, Chair of the PTKN Bureau Heads Forum, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for his willingness to attend and inaugurate the forum’s executive board. Zaenuri hopes that in the future, this forum can continue to drive improvements and foster innovations in governance. The focus of these improvements includes the integration of a one-stop governance system, clarity regarding career paths for bureaucratic officials, and the strengthening of human resource (HR) management across ministries and agencies.
Zaenuri also emphasized the strategic role of this forum in overseeing the implementation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ strategic policies to ensure they are carried out harmoniously across all state-run religious universities.
“This forum serves as a platform for in-depth discussion regarding the follow-up to the Ministry of Religious Affairs” policies. We continue to coordinate—including with the Human Resources Bureau—to ensure that the human resources management system, from promotions to transfers, operates in an integrated and consistent manner across all PTKNs,” said Zaenuri.
With the appointment of this new leadership, all Bureau Chiefs and Division Heads at PTKN are expected to bring about tangible changes in the governance of their respective institutions. These transformative steps are believed to propel PTKN toward becoming higher education institutions that are increasingly competitive, accountable, and outstanding, both nationally and internationally.
