To Enhance Academic Synergy and Literacy, FUDA Explores Collaboration with the Tangerang City Regional Library and Archives Office (DPAD)

Serang — In an effort to strengthen the implementation of the three pillars of higher education and the development of a literacy ecosystem, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab (FUDA) held an exploratory meeting on cooperation with the Regional Library and Archives Office (DPAD) of Tangerang City on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the FUDA meeting room at UIN SMH Banten. This strategic meeting discussed various potential institutional collaborations that are expected to provide mutual and sustainable benefits for both parties.

In attendance at the meeting were members of the FUDA leadership, including the Dean, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., the FUDA Vice Deans, the Heads of Study Programs, Laboratory Heads (Kalab), as well as the academic support staff of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab at UIN SMH Banten. Meanwhile, the delegation from the Regional Library and Archives Office (DPAD) was led by the Head of the Library Division (Kabid) of Tangerang City, Ismu Hartono, SE, along with his staff.

This meeting provided an in-depth discussion on expanding the scope of cooperation with a focus on strengthening the three pillars of higher education—namely education, research, and community service. Some of the strategic programs agreed upon include the implementation of the Field Professional Program (PPL) for students, the organization of academic seminars, book discussions, and literacy seminars aimed at strengthening community capacity, as well as other programs that can be carried out collaboratively.

Furthermore, in response to the challenges of the era of information disruption, both institutions also highlighted the importance of technological adaptation. Consequently, the scope of the collaboration has been expanded to include the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization, as well as programs to strengthen library governance to make it more modern, inclusive, and accessible to the public.

The Dean of FUDA welcomed this comprehensive collaboration initiative and emphasized the importance of synergy between academic institutions and local government agencies.

“This exploratory meeting is a crucial first step. We hope that our collaboration with the Tangerang City DPAD will open up broad opportunities for the academic community—not only for internships and research, but also in promoting innovation in digitalization and AI in the library sector. ”This partnership serves as a platform for the application of academic knowledge that will directly contribute to strengthening community literacy,” said the Dean of FUDA in his opening remarks.

In line with this, Ismu Hartono, Head of the Tangerang City Library Division, also expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to this collaborative program.

“We at DPAD warmly welcome strategic partnerships with academic institutions such as FUDA. Academic initiatives—ranging from book discussions and literacy seminars to campus-led digitalization innovations—will greatly assist us in fostering a dynamic literacy ecosystem in Tangerang City. ”Moving forward, libraries are not merely places for storing books, but adaptive centers of culture and research,” he emphasized.

This constructive meeting has resulted in an agreement in principle. As a follow-up to the formalization of the partnership, the signing ceremony Memorandum of Agreement The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between FUDA UIN SMH Banten and the Tangerang City DPAD is scheduled to be signed on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, God willing. The signing of this cooperation agreement is expected to serve as a strong foundation for the implementation of all planned programs.
