SERANG — Faculty of Islamic Theology and Thought (FUSPI) / The Faculty of Islamic Theology and Literature (FUDA) at Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN) in Banten marked a historic moment with the Farewell Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony for Prospective Graduates, which was combined with the Award Ceremony FUSPI Award for Lecturers of Integrity in 2026. Held in the FUSPI Auditorium at UIN SMH Banten’s Campus 2 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, this academic event served as both a graduation ceremony and a platform to recognize achievements and dedication within the faculty.
A solemn atmosphere marked the ceremony as the Decree of the Rector of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten regarding the graduation of the prospective alumni was read aloud by the Associate Dean for Academic and Institutional Affairs, Dr. Masrukhin Muhsin, Lc., M.A. The students’ hard work throughout their undergraduate studies officially culminated in the graduation ceremony, which carries high hopes that they will be able to make tangible contributions amid the dynamics of society.
Recognition of academic achievements was one of the main highlights of the graduation ceremony. The Associate Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance, Dr. Endang Saeful Anwar, Lc., M.A., had the opportunity to announce the names of students with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) based on the Rector’s Decree No. 1101 of 2026.
At this graduation ceremony, the title of “Best Graduate at the Faculty Level” was awarded to Halawatul Kamala from the Hadith Studies (IH) program, who achieved a nearly perfect GPA of 3.92 with honors. This remarkable success continued at the study program level, where Halawatul Kamala also emerged as the top graduate of the IH program. Meanwhile, the title of top graduate in the Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy (AFI) Program was awarded to Nilna Sifaana with a GPA of 3.80 and the distinction of “With Honors,” while the title for the Al-Qur’an’an and Exegesis (IAT) program was awarded to Afifah Syawalia Arifin, who achieved a GPA of 3.87 with honors.
In addition to honoring its students, FUSPI also demonstrated its commitment to upholding a tradition of academic excellence by presenting FUSPI Award to outstanding educators. Based on Rector’s Decree No. 1100 of 2026, which was read by the Head of the General Affairs Division, Slamet Sucipto, S.E., the Faculty-Level Lecturer of Integrity Award was presented to Ahmad Muchlishon, S.Pd., M.A. The “Lecturer of Integrity” awards were also presented to faculty members at the study program level, namely Reza Fandana, S.Pd., M.Pd. for the Hadith Studies program, Rizka Hidayatul Umami, S.Ag., M.A., for the Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis program, and Dr. Mohamad Afif, M.A., for the Islamic Theology and Philosophy program.
The highlight of the event was a profound address and spiritual guidance delivered by the Dean of FUSPI, Dr. Masykur, M.Hum., to the graduating students. In his spiritual and academic message, Dr. Masykur specifically linked the philosophy of the Qur’an, Surah Az-Zumar, verse 18, to the strategic roles of the three academic programs at FUSPI. He explained that the message in that verse—regarding servants who listen to words and then choose and follow the best among them—serves as the intellectual foundation for graduates of Ushuluddin.
According to the Dean, students of Islamic Creed and Philosophy are encouraged to hone their intellectual acuity and critical thinking skills in evaluating various scholarly discourses, while students of Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis as well as Hadith Studies are required to continually explore divine messages and the prophetic example in order to present them as solutions to the challenges of our time. Through this combination of critical thinking and an understanding of divine revelation, alumni are expected to grow into individuals ulul albab who are not only intellectually outstanding but also uphold the values of integrity and good character.
The event concluded with a symbolic presentation of certificates of appreciation, a group photo session, and a joint prayer for the success and blessings of the alumni as they embark on their future careers and service.
