Faculty Profile

History

Based on Presidential Decree No. 11 of 1997 dated March 21, 1997, the Faculty of Shari'ah of IAIN Sunan Gunung Djati Serang changed its status to the State Islamic College (STAIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, which is located in Serang City.

After Banten turned into a province, based on Act No. 23 Year 2000, there was also a change in the status of the State Islamic College (STAIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten into the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, this change based on Presidential Decree number 91 of 2004 dated October 18, 2004.

Then based on Presidential Decree No. 39 of 2017 concerning the change of form from IAIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten to UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. After that, there was an expansion of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab and Da'wah into two faculties, namely the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab and the Faculty of Da'wah. The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab consists of five departments and the Faculty of Da'wah with three departments. The departments at the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab are Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy (AFI), Quranic Science and Tafsir (IAT), History of Islamic Civilization (SPI), Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) and Hadith Science (IH). After that, in 2021, the Islamic Library and Information Science Study Program (IPII) was established.

Vision

To become a study program that excels in scientific integration in the field of religious and philosophical sciences and is responsive to the development of society.

Mission

  1. The realization of graduates who are excellent, professional and have good morals;
  2. The realization of Innovative and Integrative Research in Aqidah Science, Islamic Philosophy;
  3. Implementation of Transformative Community Service and Empowerment Based on Islamic Values; and
  4. Implementation of productive and competitive cooperation with various parties both internal and external.

Graduate Prospects

  1. Religious Thinkers: Bachelor of Islamic creed and philosophy who has a good personality, knowledgeable and up-to-date as a religious thinker in Islamic creed and philosophy, able to map and answer the emergence of various schools and movements and madhhabs of religious thought that develop, and able to find solutions to developing problems related to the problems of Islamic creed and philosophy both in the text and in the context of multicultural and multi-religious life and responsible in accordance with Islamic principles and ethics, science and expertise.
  2. Analyst and consultant on social and religious issues:Bachelor of Islamic creed and philosophy who has a good personality, knowledgeable and up-to-date as an analyst and consultant on Islamic religious issues, able to map, and answer the emergence of various sects and movements and madhhabs of religious thought that develop, able to apply theological and philosophical concepts as a solution to developing problems related to social religious issues both in the text and in the context of multicultural and multi-religious life, and responsible in accordance with Islamic principles and ethics, science and expertise.
  3. Research assistant in the field of faith, philosophy and social religion:Bachelor of Islamic creed and philosophy who has a good personality, knowledgeable and up-to-date as a research assistant in the field of Islamic creed and philosophy, able to map, answer the emergence of various schools and movements and madhhabs of religious thought that develop, and able to find solutions to developing problems related to the problems of Islamic creed and philosophy both in the text and in the context of multicultural and multi-religious life and responsible in accordance with Islamic principles and ethics, science and expertise.
  4. Social Worker and Entrepreneur:Bachelor of Islamic creed and philosophy with a good personality, knowledgeable and up-to-date as a social worker and entrepreneur, who is able to map and find solutions to social problems, both problems that arise related to religion and culture.

Mission

  1. Developing education and teaching in the field of Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) with an integration-interconnection approach;
  2. Producing research in the field of Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) that can be published in national scientific journals and popular media;
  3. Initiate a Community Service Program based on BSA's knowledge and Graduate Profile;
    Developing cooperation with various parties to carry out the tridharma of higher education, especially in the field of Arabic Language and Literature (BSA);
  4. Organizing transparent and accountable academic governance and services.

  1. Arabic Language Researcher: To become Arabic language researchers who are able to carry out research in the field of Arabic by applying research theories and Arabic language science in accordance with developments in the global era and have a noble personality based on Islamic teachings;

Arabic Literature Researcher: To become Arabic literature researchers who are able to carry out research in the field of Arabic literature by applying theories of Arabic research and literature in accordance with developments in the global era and have a noble personality based on Islamic teachings;
  3. Translator: To become a translator who is able to translate various Arabic texts using the rules of translation and has a noble personality according to Islamic teachings; and
  4. Arabic Language Instructor: Being an educator in teaching Arabic in educational institutions is supported by effective Arabic learning theory and has a noble personality according to Islamic teachings.

  1. Beginner Muhaddis: Mastering theories of hadith in general, being able to distinguish between sahih, hasan and dha'if hadith, and being able to apply the values in hadith to social life;
  2. Hadith Researcher/Activist: Able to research social religious fields with various methods or approaches, including the Living Hadith/Sunnah approach;
  3. Teacher: Able to teach hadith in particular or religion in general competitively. Before becoming a teacher, alumni are required to take PPG (Teacher Professional Education);
