UIN Public Relations – The Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M) at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten officially sent off eight students participating in the Saudi Arabia International Community Service Program. The send-off ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere in the Meeting Room of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building, Campus 2, UIN SMH Banten, on Monday morning, October 5, 2026.
This send-off ceremony was attended by the First Vice Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Dr. H. Nana Jumhana, M.Ag., LP2M officials, faculty members, and eight students participating in the International Kukerta program.
The eight selected students come from various academic programs, including English Language Teaching, Arabic Language Education, History of Islamic Civilization, and Islamic Education Counseling.
In his remarks, the First Vice Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Dr. H. Nana Jumhana, M.Ag., emphasized that sending students abroad is a significant milestone for the revival of the university’s international programs.
“This student exchange program is part of the resurgence of international activities at UIN SMH Banten. Of course, we now have a vision to become a leading Islamic university with an international reputation and a significant impact,” he said in his opening remarks.
The First Vice Rector also urged the participants to always uphold proper conduct, ethics, and the good reputation of their alma mater while carrying out their service duties in Saudi Arabia.
“I urge the participants to truly uphold the good name of their families and UIN SMH Banten. Maintain proper conduct and behavior, and provide the best programs for the community there,” he emphasized.
In addition to academic and community service aspects, the First Vice Rector reminded the students to take advantage of the opportunity to be in the Holy Land to enrich their spirituality.
“Take advantage of this opportunity to enrich your spiritual experience as well. Since it’s not far from the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, use your time off to worship and draw closer to God at the Grand Mosque,” he added in his remarks.
The send-off ceremony concluded with a joint prayer for the students’ safety and success in their assignments, followed by a group photo session featuring the eight International Kukerta participants, the First Vice Rector, LP2M officials, and the faculty members in attendance.
