UIN SMH Banten Auditor Refresher Course Strengthens ISO-Based Internal Audit Competencies

UIN Public Relations – The Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten held an Auditor Refresher Course on October 6–7, 2026, in the Rectorate Auditorium on the 3rd floor of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The program was attended by 70 participants as part of efforts to strengthen auditors’ competencies in conducting internal audits within the university.

The Auditor Refresher Training featured Prof. Dr. H. Sugeng Listyo Prabowo, M.Pd., as a guest speaker. Over the course of the two-day event, participants received a refresher on the concepts, principles, and practices of internal auditing, particularly ISO-based internal auditing.

On the first day, the speakers provided a refresher on the conduct of internal audits, covering topics ranging from audit principles, the roles and competencies of auditors, and techniques for gathering and verifying objective evidence, to how auditors should properly formulate audit findings. This training is expected to foster a shared understanding and common perspective among auditors in conducting audits in an objective, systematic, and evidence-based manner.

The program did not stop at conceptual reinforcement; on the second day, participants took part in an internal audit simulation. Through this simulation, participants gained hands-on experience with the various stages of conducting an audit, including the interview process, tracing and verifying evidence, identifying compliance and non-compliance issues, and compiling audit results. The simulation served as a means for participants to re-apply their existing audit knowledge and skills in a situation that closely resembled an actual audit.

The Auditor Refresher Course concluded with a post-test as part of the evaluation of participants’ understanding and competencies after completing the entire series of activities.

Through this activity, the LPM at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten hopes that auditors will gain a stronger understanding and develop more robust skills in conducting ISO-based internal audits. Auditor competence is a key factor in ensuring that audits are not merely inspection activities, but rather provide an objective assessment of the effectiveness of management systems and serve as the foundation for continuous improvement and quality enhancement.

This Auditor Refresher Training is also part of LPM’s commitment to strengthening a culture of quality at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten through the conduct of professional, objective internal audits focused on improving institutional quality.
