SyariahNews – The Faculty of Sharia at Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN) in Banten officially sent off 456 students to participate in the Field Professional Practicum (PPL) program on Thursday (Sept. 3).
Hundreds of students were deployed to 60 government agencies and institutions throughout the Banten region.
The farewell ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere on the UIN SMH Banten campus starting at 10:00 a.m. WIB, beginning with an official opening and a collective singing of the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” by all participants and members of the academic community.
The students’ assignment areas cover five regions: Serang City, Cilegon City, Serang Regency, Pandeglang Regency, and Lebak Regency (Rangkasbitung).
The partner institutions serving as practicum sites include:
Judicial and legal institutions: Religious Courts and Legal Offices; Religious and social institutions: the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and BAZNAS; Election management bodies: the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu); Financial and government institutions: Sharia Banking, Cooperatives, the Cooperative Service, and BPMD.
Dr. Iin Ratma Sumirat, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at UIN SMH Banten, officially opened the event and provided guidance and encouragement to all participants. In his address, the Dean emphasized that the PPL program is not merely a means of fulfilling credit requirements or an academic formality, but rather an opportunity for students to demonstrate their competencies in the real world.
”The PPL program is not merely about earning an academic degree; rather, it is a real-world platform to demonstrate that the theories learned in the classroom can address challenges in the workplace,” the Dean emphasized.
Furthermore, the Dean encouraged the participants to be confident and proactive while working at their respective institutions.
”Never feel inferior or hesitate. Use this opportunity as a crucible to hone your leadership skills, adaptability, and integrity. Be present not merely as interns, but as providers of solutions and positive energy for the organizations where you are assigned,” he added.
At the end of his remarks, the Dean once again reminded the students to always uphold the good name of their alma mater, maintain a high standard of professionalism, and adhere strictly to ethics and noble moral values while carrying out their duties in the field.
