UIN Public Relations – Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN) Banten officially held a soccer tournament to celebrate its 64th anniversary.
This inter-unit sports event was held at the soccer field on Campus 2 of UIN SMH Banten, Curug, Serang City, on Wednesday (October 21, 2026)
The opening match pitted the Faculty of Science and Technology team against a combined team from Campus 1—comprising the Graduate School and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The opening ceremony was attended in person by the Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Ishom, M.A., along with university leadership and the organizing committee.
In his official remarks on the sidelines, the Rector expressed his deep appreciation to the entire organizing committee for their hard work in making this tournament a reality, despite the relatively short preparation period.
“Alhamdulillah, this afternoon’s inaugural match between Saintek and Campus 1 will hopefully go smoothly,” Prof. Ishom remarked jokingly, to warm applause from the participants.
The rector added that thanks to the collaboration and commitment of the organizing committee, this soccer tournament was ultimately a success. As part of the evaluation process and with an eye toward future development, the rector hopes that preparations for the upcoming 64th anniversary celebration can begin much earlier so that the event will be even more festive and inclusive.
“Hopefully, in the coming year, for our 64th anniversary, we can start preparing earlier so that the celebration will be more festive, involve more people, and perhaps even include students,” said the Rector.
Concluding his remarks, Prof. Ishom urged the entire team and all participants to uphold the values of unity and sportsmanship.
“To bring blessings and, hopefully, ensure everything proceeds in a sportsmanlike manner, let’s begin by reciting the basmalah. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,” said the Rector as he officially opened the tournament.
