FUDA | Serang 12/11/2024 - Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten held coaching activities for outstanding students on November 12-14, 2024. This activity presented Dr. Muhammad Shoheh, M.A., as the Head of UIN SMH Banten Library to convey the development of the library function as a place that is more than just a place to read or borrow books.
The socialization of Optimizing the Role of Libraries in the Digital Age is very relevant to the needs of high-achieving students who are generally hungry for the latest information, discussion spaces, and places that support knowledge development. Students who are always eager to make achievements tend to need wider access to information and a place to express their ideas. Libraries today should develop into centers of collaboration and innovation that will support their needs to continue to develop and achieve academic and non-academic achievements.
In his presentation, Dr. Muhammad Shoheh invited the participants to see the library as a space rich in potential. According to him, libraries should be developed into places that support the exchange of ideas and innovation.
“Libraries can be centers of creativity and collaboration, where students can debate ideas, generate fresh ideas, and innovate freely,” said Dr. Shoheh.
This activity also presented Mr. Irfan Natsir, librarian of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, who provided socialization on the effective use of library services. He explained various library services, such as OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) for searching library collections, Kubuku application that facilitates access to digital collections, as well as Repository which contains various collections of academic works such as e-journals, theses, theses, and dissertations. This socialization aims to facilitate students in making maximum use of information resources, which are needed to support their learning and research processes.
In addition, Mr. Irfan Natsir also motivated the participants with some inspirational life philosophies, as a stimulus for students to be more enthusiastic in pursuing achievements and utilizing library facilities to support their learning process.
This activity is expected to encourage students to be more active in utilizing the library as an interactive learning center, supporting self-development, and realizing creative ideas on the campus of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten.
