Winning 8 Medals at the 8th POMPROV in Cilegon, UIN SMH Banten’s Pencak Silat Athletes Shone Brightly

UIN Public Relations – The pencak silat team from Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin (SMH) State Islamic University (UIN) in Banten successfully achieved a proud accomplishment at the 8th Banten Provincial University Sports Week (POMPROV). In this prestigious collegiate competition, held in Cilegon from August 31 to September 1, 2026, the young UIN SMH Banten athletes won a total of eight medals, consisting of 1 gold, 6 silver, and 1 bronze.

In response to this outstanding achievement, the Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Ishom, M.A., expressed his gratitude and highest appreciation. According to the Rector, this result is clear evidence of the students’ dedication and hard work in developing their non-academic potential.

“Alhamdulillah, we should be grateful and proud of the medals brought home by our athletes, especially those from the pencak silat discipline. These achievements not only bring honor to the students themselves but also elevate the reputation of our institution at the provincial level. Keep training, maintain sportsmanship, and use today’s achievements as a strong foundation to claim victory on the national stage,” emphasized Prof. Ishom.

Echoing the Rector’s sentiments, Jamaluddin, M.E., the Coordinator and Secretary of the Student Activities Advisory Team (TPKM) at UIN SMH Banten, also expressed his pride. Jamaluddin believes that this dominance in medal count signifies the immense potential of the university’s athletes, which must continue to be nurtured.

“This haul of one gold, six silver, and one bronze medal is a truly remarkable achievement and one worth celebrating. The number of medals we’ve won proves that our pencak silat athletes possess a highly competitive, champion’s mindset. Moving forward, this sport will certainly require special attention from the university. ”We will conduct a comprehensive evaluation—both in terms of facilities and training programs—so that today’s silver and bronze medals can be maximized into gold medals in future championships,” said Jamaluddin.

Men's Competition Category:

  1. Muhammad Sajad Faqih (MHU Fada) – 1st Place (Gold Medal) Class C
  2. Sultan Ibrahim Jarkasih (HTN Fasya) – 2nd Place (Silver Medal) Class A
  3. M. Ibnu Adlillah (PMI Fada) – 2nd Place (Silver Medal) in Class B
  4. M. Fadlan Al-Fahrezi (EKIS Febi) – 2nd Place (Silver Medal) Class E
  5. Diandra Bayu Dwipanata (MHU Fada) – 2nd Place (Silver Medal) Class F

Women's Competition Categories:

  1. Rania Malika Putri (TBI FTIK) – 2nd Place (Silver Medal) in Class C
  2. Nadzifah Arzaqillah Rangkuti (BSA Fahum) – 3rd Place (Bronze Medal) Class B

Men's Singles Category:

  1. Muhamad Sagara Nabila (PAI FTIK) – 2nd Place (Silver Medal)
