Through the 2026 Overseas PPSL Program, UIN SMH Banten and Puspenmas Help Young Faculty Members Gain International Exposure

UIN Public Relations – Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN SMH) Banten has officially launched the 2026 Overseas Graduate Studies Preparation Program (PPSL). The event took place in a hybrid format in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of the PPG Training Center Building at UIN SMH Banten’s Campus 2 on Friday morning, October 2, 2026.

The event was attended by 30 participants at the opening ceremony, of whom 15 were present in person and 15 participated online.

In his opening remarks, the Vice Rector II of UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Ali Muhatarom, S.Pd.I., M.Si., explained the main focus and objectives of this training program.

“This program, initiated by the Center for Religious Education Funding (Puspenmas), is designed to support and prepare young faculty members and scholarship recipients to pursue doctoral degrees (S3) at various prestigious universities abroad,” said Dr. Ali in his opening remarks.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Center for Religious Education and Religious Studies, Dr. Ruchman Basori, M.Ag., emphasized the importance of mental preparedness for prospective international students.

“Studying abroad requires mental toughness and a high degree of adaptability. Participants are prepared to develop a resilient character that is ready to face both cultural and academic challenges in their host country.”

To mark the official opening, a symbolic presentation was made to two participant representatives: Tifany Fergie Tombokan (IAKN Manado) and Sandi Pradana (STAI Ma’arif Kalirejo, Lampung).

Speaking on behalf of all the participants, Tifany said that this training program has a deeper meaning than just technical preparation.

“This training program isn’t just about improving language or academic scores; it’s a platform for striving to gain admission to higher education institutions abroad,” said Tifany.

Like Tifany, Sandi Pradana hopes this initiative will strengthen networking among academics. According to him, the program is expected to serve as a platform for building relationships—both among participants and with the tutors—so that they can support one another throughout the college application process and be ready to contribute to Indonesia after completing their studies.
