UIN Public Relations – UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten has once again taken a strategic step to strengthen the quality of human resources on campus. This time, UIN SMH Banten has established a close collaboration with the Serang Vocational Training and Productivity Center (BBPVP Serang) by organizing an online Tailor-Made Training (TMT) program.
This specialized vocational training program was designed based on a collaborative agreement between BBPVP Serang and various stakeholders to address challenges and meet the needs of a dynamic job market. Through this program, participants are thoroughly prepared not only to enter the formal workforce but also to pursue entrepreneurial paths and boost overall productivity.
The training program, which took place over four consecutive days from September 5 to 8, 2026, was conducted intensively via an online platform. This virtual format was chosen to ensure effectiveness and flexibility for participants from various academic backgrounds without interfering with their primary responsibilities at their respective institutions.

The event coordinator, Jamaluddin, M.E., stated in his official report that the participants’ enthusiasm for this program was very high. A total of 48 participants—including faculty members, educators, and alumni of UIN SMH Banten—actively took part in the entire series of training sessions presented by experienced instructors.
Furthermore, Jamaluddin emphasized that improving the quality of human resources plays a crucial and fundamental role. According to him, strengthening this aspect is an integral part of the framework for strengthening institutional governance and ongoing efforts to boost the overall quality of higher education services. “Improving the quality of human resources plays a crucial and fundamental role, and is an integral part of the framework for strengthening institutional governance as well as ongoing efforts to boost the quality of higher education services as a whole,” he said.
In response to the program, the Rector of UIN SMH Banten, Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Ishom, M.A., expressed his appreciation and shared his in-depth insights on the urgency of competency-building activities. He stated that this type of program is not merely a ceremonial event, but rather a real and urgent need for enhancing the competencies of university staff.

Prof. Ishom added that this enhancement of competencies is not only closely related to the performance of daily academic and administrative duties. More than that, this training also aims to strengthen staff members“ abilities in conducting training, providing guidance, developing competencies, enhancing excellent service to students and the community, and strengthening various strategic service units on campus. ”A program like this is not merely a ceremonial event, but a real and urgent need for enhancing the competencies of university staff,“ Prof. Ishom emphasized. He added, ”This training is not only closely related to the performance of academic and administrative duties but also aims to strengthen staff capabilities in conducting training, providing mentoring, developing competencies, and enhancing excellent service to students and the community.”
In his remarks, the Rector also emphasized the importance of positioning on-the-job training as a key functional tool. Based on existing proposals and guidelines, structured on-the-job training effectively serves as a means for each individual to contribute, acquire, enhance, and develop job competencies, productivity, discipline, a professional attitude, and a strong work ethic.
In addition, the direction of this vocational training policy is specifically designed to align with the actual needs of employers and the industrial sector, the need to foster entrepreneurship, and the mission to boost national productivity. This demonstrates the institution’s commitment to bridging the gap between higher education and the real-world needs of the business and industrial sectors (DUDI).
Based on these careful considerations, the Rector of UIN SMH Banten views the provision of structured opportunities for staff and alumni to participate in the Level 3 Junior Instructor Training as a crucial step. For staff members, this program is specifically designed to strengthen their capacity as reliable human resources capable of supporting various training and competency development activities in the future. Meanwhile, for alumni, this program serves as a strategic platform to enhance additional competencies that are highly relevant to the demands of the rapidly evolving workforce and training sectors.
