To Celebrate Its 64th Anniversary, UIN SMH Banten Holds a Da’i and Da’iyah Competition for the Entire Province of Banten

UIN Public Relations – To celebrate its 64th anniversary, UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten officially launched a series of events for the Da’i and Da’iyah Competition for high school students and their equivalents throughout Banten Province. The event was held in the PPG Auditorium on the 2nd floor of UIN SMH Banten’s Campus 2 on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

This event was attended by 25 talented participants—a delegation of high school students from various regencies and cities in Banten Province.

The Vice Rector III of UIN SMH Banten, Dr. Dedi Sunardi, M.H., was present in person to deliver opening remarks and officially open the event. In his remarks, he emphasized that the role of male and female da’i is crucial and urgent amid the dynamics of today’s modern society.

“The need for da’i and da’iyah is absolutely essential in today’s context. After all, da’wah—whether in its formal or digital form—is essential for a society in need of information, clarification, and religious knowledge, especially given the current state of disruption and numerous challenges, particularly when it comes to da’wah in the digital world,” said Dr. Dedi Sunardi.

Through this message, he hopes that the younger generation—particularly high school students in Banten—will continue to hone their skills in da’wah. Not limited to delivering sermons from the pulpit, participants are also encouraged to master technology- and social media-based da’wah strategies to address the challenges of the times and spread the values of religious moderation widely and extensively.

The event program also included the reading of the integrity pledge by a representative of the judging panel, Ustadz Andi Siswanto. This reading of the integrity pledge was conducted as a demonstration of a shared commitment to maintaining objectivity, professionalism, and transparency in evaluating the performances of all male and female da’i participants.

Through the holding of this Banten Provincial Da’i and Da’iyah Competition, UIN SMH Banten hopes to continue nurturing talented young preachers who are intelligent, broad-minded, and ready to become pioneers of da’wah that enlightens and brings peace to the communities of Banten and the nation as a whole.
