Serang, April 7, 2026 - Seminar entitled “Prompt Engineering for the Modern Librarian” was successfully held on Tuesday (7/4) at the 2nd Floor Hall of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab, UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. With the theme “Create, Manage and Report with AI”, The event was attended by librarians, academics, and students who were enthusiastic about exploring the use of artificial intelligence in information management.
This seminar aims to improve the competence of librarians in facing digital transformation, especially in the use of AI technology to support professional tasks such as data processing, report preparation, and the development of innovative library services.
The chairman of the committee in his speech said that this activity was a strategic step to answer the challenges of the times.
“Libraries are not just young and strong, they are the heart of civilization and that heart can only beat fast if it is driven by competent and competent people of all ages. Furthermore, Law No. 43 of 2027 concerning Libraries stipulates that national libraries as institutions that manage collections of written, printed, and or recorded works must be managed professionally with a system that helps to meet the needs of education, research, libraries, information, and the creation of libraries,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Adab in his speech expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the activity.
“I think this workshop is very important, there are three words that are important slogans, create, I don't know if what is meant by create is to create relevant and quality content to meet users, then manage, manage information effectively and efficiently to increase accessibility. I guess, and finally report, what is being reported? Report results and impact, yes, services to improve transparency and accountability. I think, with these three slogans, the library staff will truly achieve its vision as the heart of civilization. We can learn from countries that really prioritize their libraries,” he said.
By organizing this seminar, it is hoped that the participants can implement the knowledge gained in their respective work environments, so as to improve the quality of library services in the rapidly growing digital era.
